How to Research Permits

Instructions on Researching Permits

These instructions apply to all permits processed since implementing our online permitting and inspection portal through OpenGov in August of 2023.  Information on permits dated prior to August 2023 can be obtained by visiting the Inspectional Services Office at Town Hall or by calling the Inspectional Services office at 508-883-1500 ext. 129.

  1.  Click on the top link in the menu on the left of this page titled **CLICK HERE TO ACCESS ONLINE PERMIT & INPSECTION PORTAL** OR go to our homepage and click on Permits & Applications right below the top picture.
  1.  Click on “Search” located in the top right corner of the page.
  1.  Put in street address (without “ST, RD, AVE”) you are inquiring about and click on the correct address for the property from the search bar. 
  1.  Screen will pop up showing the status of all permits pulled since August of 2023 for the property. 
  1.  If you want to review the internal reviews, documents, or inspections, you are going to have to register in our system. Once registered, you will be able to click on anything that is in blue/purple font, opening it up to view, download, or print. 

How to Register:

  1. Click on the top link in the menu on the left of this page titled **CLICK HERE TO ACCESS ONLINE PERMIT & INPSECTION PORTAL** OR go to our homepage and click on Permits & Applications right below the top picture.
  1. Click on “Sign Up” located in the top right corner of the page.
  1. When “Registration Type” comes up, if you are a real estate agent, categorize yourself as “Business Manager”.
  1. Satisfy any fields that have a red line next to it, and then click on “Submit” located at the bottom of the screen. 
  1. Once profile is accepted and “Submit” has been clicked on, a new screen will come up. Click on “Search.”  The “Field Type” you are to accept is “Permits”.
  1. Put in street address (without “ST, RD, AVE”) you are inquiring about and click on the correct address for the property from the search bar.
  1. Screen will pop up showing the status of the permit, and if you need to review anything about the permit itself.
  1. Click on “Permit, Review, Documents, Inspections” – that will bring you to anything that we’ve done internally; documents pertaining to, inspections, and reviews.
