Parade

Parade Route and Important Information

The Memorial Day Committee is so excited for this year's Memorial Day Parade and Celebration. The parade will begin promptly at 1:00 PM after a brief ceremony at the Town Common on Sunday May 25, 2025. There will be a ceremony in front of the Municipal Center immediately following the parade. The Celebration will kick off at 2:00 PM immediately after the post-parade ceremony.

Map 2 - Parade Route (No Parking)

Pre-Parade Preparation: 

  • Parade participants will be arriving at the Town Common to check-in between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM to ensure there is enough time to find their designated spot in the procession.
  • Please do not park parade floats along Main Street; large vehicles and floats should park along Goddard Street. This will be strictly enforced by the Blackstone Police Department.
  • The pre-parade ceremony at the Town Common is scheduled to begin at approximately 12:00 PM; participants will then line up in their designated spots in the procession.

Road Closures and Parking:  

  • Butler and County Streets will be closed beginning at 11:00 AM to allow for pre-parade organization.
  • Any drop-offs at Goddard and Washington Streets, can walk up to County Street, drive out on Goddard to Carrington.
  • Blackstone Police Department will begin to close the intersection of Main Street and St. Paul Street at approximately 12:45 PM. Road closures will be strictly enforced by the Blackstone Police Department and Main Street will not be accessible after 12:30 PM.
  • Alternative parking is available at the former Park N Shop/Dean Bank lot on Main Street, just a short walk to the Municipal Center or an any side street where available.  No parking will be allowed on Main Street on the parade route.

Participant Pickup: 

  • Please ensure that any participants that have been dropped off at the Town Common prior to the parade step off have made arrangements for pick up at the Municipal Center area. 
  • There is no parking in front of the Municipal Center until after the ceremony has concluded. Please seek alternative parking areas for participant pickup.
